Event Details

This presentation is designed for students, organizers, nonprofit professionals, and community leaders who would like to deepen their understanding of the wage theft problem and brainstorm strategies for redress. Towards Justice’s presentation will arm the Gunnison community with the correct information about wage theft and workers’ rights in Colorado. Unfortunately, wage theft is a rampant problem across our state; the CO Fiscal Institute estimates that $750 million is stolen from Colorado workers on an annual basis, impacting 1 in 10 workers and disproportionately impacting the immigrant community. This presentation will break down what wage theft is, what it looks like, what to do if a community member becomes a victim of wage theft, and what workers’ rights are in CO.
