Our community is fortunate to welcome Julian Rubinstein at the Gunnison Library on Monday, November 13 at 6 pm. Julian’s non-fiction book, The Holly, won the 2022 Colorado Book Award and the 2022 High Plains Book Award. The Holly was also selected as an Editors’ Choice by the New York Times.
His documentary, also called The Holly (thehollyfilm.com), won multiple awards at film festivals in 2022 and was released in theaters in February 2023.
The community wide book discussion and author talk will be followed by a screening of the film on Wednesday, November 15th at Western Colorado University.
Free copies of The Holly will be available at the Gunnison County Public Library in Gunnison and the Old Rock Library in Crested Butte beginning on Wednesday October 25th.
This is a great opportunity to read a book, discuss it with the author and the community, and then enjoy a documentary based on the book.
If you have questions about the event, please contact Library Director Drew Brookhart by email at drew@gunnisoncountylibraries.org. Or to learn more about Julian please visit julianrubinstein.com
