Event Details

Join us on Thursday, September 8, 2022 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Crested Butte Library when Richard Allen will review the 8 or 10 most important or interesting of the Court’s decisions this last term, including the Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade, and the decisions striking down New York’s gun control law and the EPA’s regulation of carbon emissions.

Richard Allen is a graduate of Harvard College and Columbia Law School and has practiced law in Washington D.C. for many years, including with the Office of the Solicitor General in the Department of Justice.  He has argued ten cases before the Supreme Court and has taught courses on the Supreme Court and the Constitution in Crested Butte and Washington, D.C.  He gave a Supreme Court update at the CB Library three years ago and a talk on climate change before that.  He am a past president and current board member of the Public Policy Forum of Crested Butte.

The talk will go for 45 minutes or so and then there will be an opportunity for questions after that.
