Please join us for a presentation on equity with Dr. Mosby-Tyler’s Equity Project.
On May 4, from 9:00-11:00 a.m. via Zoom, Dr. Nita Mosby-Tyler of The Equity Project in Denver will offer a two-hour workshop, “Deconstructing Equity.” If you are from Gunnison County and attend this workshop, or pledge to listen to the recording of the workshop on the evening of May 4, you are eligible to be at a second Zoom session with Dr. Mosby-Tyler on May 5, also from 9:00-11:00. This workshop will be a participatory discussion and Dr. Mosby-Tyler will design the workshop around questions, concerns or themes submitted to her beforehand. CFGV and the Gunnison Libraries are making this available to County residents at no charge.
And if you have attended both of these, your organization or agency is eligible to apply for a grant from CFGV to take next steps that you feel are appropriate. These would be for something that applicants believe would be valuable to everyone in the County, or to a subsection of people in the County such as a municipality, a nonprofit on behalf of a group of nonprofits or businesses (for example, minority-owned businesses), all of the students in a school, or an Association such as the Chamber of Commerce on behalf of all businesses in the community, for example. Details will be provided to attendees on May 5.
Right now, CFGV and the Library are seeking two things from the public. First, what would you like Dr. Mosby-Tyler to address on May 5? We will aggregate your thoughts and get them to her before April 20. Send them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
And, please register! Space is limited and we urge you to register early online here. If you would like to attend the May 5 follow-up session, please also register here.
