HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT YOUR LIBRARY

Your generous financial support of Gunnison County libraries is greatly appreciated.

The Library District is tax-supported, we understand our responsibility to be good stewards of the funds we receive through property taxes.  Those funds are used to provide salaries for the friendly folks who serve you, to pay utility bills and upkeep of our facilities, to purchase the materials you find on our shelves – books, magazines, newspapers, CDs, DVDs, and more – as well as to provide free public access to the Internet via our computers.

However, each of our libraries has specific needs for items and services that we can't provide within our annual budgets.

You can help us meet those needs by:

  • Clicking on our Crested Butte or Gunnison "wish lists"  and seeing if there is an item or two that you would like to provide
  • Making a cash donation to one of the libraries, or to the Library District to be used in a manner determined by our librarians to be in the best interest of the libraries and our patrons. You can also designate how you wish the funds to be used. For example, if you would like us to purchase more audiobooks.
  • Becoming a member of a Friends of the Library organization in Gunnison or Crested Butte and making a contribution to the Friends that will be distributed to the libraries for special needs.

REMEMBER:  All contributions to the district, to libraries or to Friends groups are tax-deductible.

            THANK YOU for your support!
