Citizenship Classes

 

 

          The Gunnison County Library District's Literacy Action Program, with the support of a service grant from the City of Gunnison, is once again offering Citizenship classes. 

Adult Education Classes

    Adult Education Classes where you can study for your high school equivalency diploma, improve job skills, and learn English (as a Second language) are being offered Monday & Wednesday evenings starting Wednesday, Jan. 18 through May 2, 2012. 6-8 pm.  You’re invited to learn at whatever level you choose.  We can help!

One Book, One Valley Events Ramp up October 4

ONE BOOK, ONE VALLEY

EVENTS RAMP UP NEXT WEEK

 

          The 2011 One Book, One Valley program will hit full stride next week with visits to Crested Butte and Gunnison from the author of this year’s book, “Ship Breaker.”

Library District Lowers Tax Impact Estimate of Ballot Issues

The combined tax impact of the two ballot issues to be presented to the voters this fall by the Gunnison County Library District will be $13.35 per $100,000 of actual value for Gunnison County homeowners.

          Library District officials announced this week that the property tax estimate had been lowered from the original estimate of $25.00 per $100,000 of actual value.

          The proposed new children’s library annex in Crested Butte and a new library building in Gunnison will be among topics of discussion at a public meeting planned for Crested Butte South on Thursday, September 15.

New details of proposed library facility to be presented at June 29 public meeting

          Details of the new library facility proposed for Gunnison will be presented at a public meeting set for Wednesday, June 29, at the Aspinall-Wilson Center on the WSC campus.

          The meeting, which begins at 7:00 p.m., is open and free to the public.
