One Book One Valley Programs Begin in Fall

One Book, One Valley

Programs Begin this Fall

Gunnison County's One Book, One Valley program is set for October and November of this year.

To help celebrate this year's designation as "The Year of Water" in Colorado, the theme of the One Book, One Valley program is Colorado Water 2012.

While a number of books dealing with water issues in the state and throughout the West will be recommended reading, the primary book is Craig Childs' "The Secret Knowledge of Water."

Childs is a resident of Paonia, Colorado, and plans are being made for a multi-day visit by him to the Gunnison Valley.

Specific details about programs, authors who will make personal appearances, films and other activities will be announced when they are finalized.

Earlier this year Senators Mark Udall and Michael Bennett declared 2012 the Year of Water in Colorado.  Since then Year of Water proclamations have been issued by the two Senators, Governor Hickenlooper and some Colorado Communities.

The program is sponsored by the Gunnison County Library District, Western State College's Savage Library and the RE1J School District libraries. The book will be available through those libraries.
